Did anyone else hear this?

a mans house burnt down in Albion Tennessee(sp) because he hadn't paid his $75 fee to the city for fire protection...how could another human being let someones house burn down...fireman stood by and let a house burn down..wouldnt you of loaned the guy $75 if you saw the fire department standing by....I understand free loaders who dont pay etc, but this sounds unreal in the United States...kinda like healthcare, we let people die because they dont have insurance? Does anyone else think things are going way too far?
