Spiritually speaking: Isn't 'sweetie' the most condescending name somebody can call you?

I say that all the time, but I always mean it. It reminds me of a southern US phrase "bless your heart". It can be used to be totally sympathetic or hing. I once hit a cat with my car and was crying. A lady stopped and said, "Oh, bless your heart!". You can also say, "She's a total b*tch, bless her heart!".
