Sledding in Big Bear, ca?

Hi my family and i will be going to Big bear lake, ca in a few weeks we have a cabin right next to snow summit. We wanted to take the kids sledding. We have been to alpine slide but $25/per child and adults that go with the children can get pretty pricey. Are there any safe places that we can go to to enjoy sledding with our own sleds?? I see videos of a lot of people sledding down hills and wanted to know where they were....any suggestions??
