Panspermia - your thoughts?

Panspermia is the theory that during the Earth's formative years (over 4 billion years ago), when comets were bombarding our planet which had NO ATMOSPHERE AT THAT TIME, they carried with it the building blocks of life (pre-cursors to amino acids) which over millions if not billions of years eventually formed proteins.
