Installed engine from 94 trooper and put in 96 rodeo?

switched the wiring harness from the engine of the 96 to the 94 and the intake and valve covers and coil packs. the engine turns ove, has fuel but no spark. i was told maybe cam or crank sensor. i heard about a wiring harness adapter so i can use the computer from the trooper. any ideas would be greatly appeciated. am at wit end!
