Horse papers, blue vs. gold?

So here's the thing. Myfox trotterr came with papers and when i showed them to a friend, he told me she was gold papered. I don't think it's to important, but i was wondering, what exactly does it mean if your horse is gold papered? and subsequently, what does it mean if they're blue?
